A vulnerability affecting hundreds of thousands of websites was made public last week. The issue affects GNU C open source library, or Glibc found in Linux; an operating system used by many web servers. If exploited, the vulnerability would allow hackers to remotely access servers and attack consumer devices.
On February 16th, Google and Red Hat engineers released a patch to the public. If you have a managed server with your hosting provider, this patch should already be applied. Clients with Support Agreements are being patched as quickly as possible.
If you are unsure about the condition of your server please contact Cool Blue.
