Escape. Discover. Play ... in Greater Parkersburg, West Virginia! When the Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) needed to bring their energetic new brand to the Web, Cool Blue Interactive was the team selected to design, develop and manage the online presence.
One of the challenges in this project was that the existing site contained disjointed navigation and graphical inconsistencies which made it difficult and confusing for visitors seeking information. Through strategic planning and Information Architecture, Cool Blue successfully reorganized the site to improve the user’s experience.
The Cool Blue team worked closely with CVB's marketing agency to create a new site, complete with an updated navigation scheme and graphic design that reflected the organization’s new logo and print materials – building a cohesive brand from print collaterals to the community’s online presence.
In addition, Cool Blue was presented with the challenge of integrating data from the CVB's internal management software into the new site with minimal redundancy. The data, which is managed by the CVB, includes important information such as member listings, event calendars and group tour information with internal desktop software. By working with the CVB to understand their existing software and the organization's management requirements, Cool Blue developed a customized, easy-to-use solution, eliminating the need to maintain data in two systems.
The site is driven by a customized content management solution allowing the client to perform everyday tasks, such as adding, editing or deleting content, uploading and inserting photos, adding users and more.
