The Challenge:

The Conservancy’s original site had several challenges including very low click rates and content organization that was either not productive or too confusing for users to navigate. They needed a website that could capture donation information gracefully, inform and evoke responses in the way of advocacy, give their Capital Campaign online exposure, educate and motivate user interest and participation.

The Goal:

Cool Blue focused on intuitive navigation and presented the pathways in logical sets that set expectations to which the user could respond.  We also injected rich imagery throughout the site and worked with the Conservancy to provide meaningful, relevant information and calls to action that communicate more clearly with users. Integration with Blackbaud NetCommunity and Raiser’s Edge provided the administrators with an easy way to keep fresh and relevant information updated on the site. Third-party solutions for estate planning and advocacy initiatives were integrated into the site as well as email marketing tools for driving messaging to the Conservancy’s existing and potential user base.

The Results:

Currently, the Conservancy is realizing over 8,000 opt-in subscribers and, with new tools and functionality, the subscriber list is growing on average at 20% per quarter. Additionally, within the time frame of one year (January 2008-January 2009), the total number of viewers on the site has doubled.
