The Challenge

In 2009 our client contact and the primary driving force behind the Film Festival approached us with a persistent issue.

Every year, in order to organize the festival lineup, he relied on a large magnetic board with individual film screenings represented on cards. These cards were then arranged on the board according to dates, times, and venues. However, this method proved to be cumbersome and challenging to translate into digital formats for printing paper guides or for use on the web.

The Goal

Cool Blue was tasked with devising a digital solution to this process. The tool would need to approximate the traditional "board and cards" technique that would be easy to use and provide immediate feedback and interaction with databases. Additionally, with a new digital tool, the client would have access to this data for use across multiple applications. 

The Results

Cool Blue recently completed our third update of this solution for the 2024 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. We developed a completely revamped drag-and-drop scheduler tool. This new tool operates within the browser using JavaScript and seamlessly integrates with the client's AirTable data warehouse, enabling real-time updates of all scheduling results, along with robust reporting functionality.
